Baked Ziti
One of the most asked for recipes from me is
my jacked up Baked Ziti. Here is the recipe I make using my Mama Mancini Meatballs and sauce.
You’ll need:
- 1-lb of meatballs
- 4-6 cups of sauce
- 1-lb of ricotta drained of the liquid
- 1-lb of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4-cup of grated Romano cheese
- 1-lb of ziti cooked just a little more than half way done
Directions:
- In a large bowl crush the meatballs and add the sauce, 3/4 lb if ricotta, 1/2 lb of mozzarella and half the Romano cheese. Mix this all together.
- Add the pasta and mix together well.
- Pour this into a baking dish and top with remaining ricotta, Romano and mozzarella.
- Bake in a 350 degree pre heated oven for 30 minutes with a loose piece of foil on top.
- Remove the foil and bake 15 minutes longer. Look for bubbling sides. Remove, let rest for 5 min, then serve.
I like extra sauce so I use the 6-cups, if you like less sauce use the 4-cups.
