Lemon Ice
Remember when Lemon Ice was homemade at your local Italian Lemon Ice store? Unless you can get to The Lemon Ice King Of Corona NY to get some, I suggest giving this recipe a try.
You’ll need:
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups water preferably pure filtered
- 1 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of grated lemon peel
Directions:
- Bring the water to a full boil and add the sugar
- Stir the sugar until it completely dissolves
- Remove the pot from the heat and set aside until it comes to room temperature then add the fresh squeezed lemon juice and the grated peel
- Stir this all together
- Now pour this into a aluminum pan like a meatloaf pan or pie plate and place in the freezer
- Every 15 min for a half hour stir the ice, then just leave it to freeze solid
- One it’s frozen solid use a heavy spoon or ice cream scoop and scrape the ice and serve in a a bowl or cup
