Lemon Ice

Lemon IceRemember when Lemon Ice was homemade at your local Italian Lemon Ice store? Unless you can get to The Lemon Ice King Of Corona NY to get some, I suggest giving this recipe a try.

 

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water preferably pure filtered
  • 1 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of grated lemon peel

 

Directions:

  1. Bring the water to a full boil and add the sugar
  2. Stir the sugar until it completely dissolves
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and set aside until it comes to room temperature then add the fresh squeezed lemon juice and the grated peel
  4. Stir this all together
  5. Now pour this into a aluminum pan like a meatloaf pan or pie plate and place in the freezer
  6. Every 15 min for a half hour stir the ice, then just leave it to freeze solid
  7. One it’s frozen solid use a heavy spoon or ice cream scoop and scrape the ice and serve in a a bowl or cup
