My Pizza Sauce and Pizza Baking Tip

My Pizza Sauce and Pizza Baking TipMy Pizza Sauce and Pizza Baking Tip(1) My Pizza Sauce and Pizza Baking Tip(2)
I love making pizza at home and it’s really very simple to make. There are a couple very simple rules to follow and once you do you’ll be saying goodbye to the always late arriving pizza delivery person with the cold pizza and hello to homemade pizza!

Here are my tips and my recipe for the perfect sauce for a Margherita Pizza.

You’ll need:

  • Pizza dough
  • Pizza sauce-recipe below
  • Mozzarella
  • Grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh basil

Pizza Tips:

#1) A pizza stone is always very important to have. There are so many available and just get one that fits your budget.

#2) Pre-heating the pizza stone is very important. So put the stone in the oven 30 minutes before you want to make a pizza and put the heat to the highest setting and let the stone pre heat

#3) Use whole mozzarella not shredded and shred it yourself.

#4) Either make your own dough or buy one in the market.

#5) Always make your own sauce it’s so simple and here is the recipe-

  • Take 1-28oz can of Whole plum Tomatoes
  • A Pinch of salt
  • 1-tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4-tsp dry oregano
  • 1-garlic clove
  • 5-fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Place all this in a blender and pulse till smooth. (see the photos) That’s the pizza sauce, we don’t cook it and always use at room temperature.

#6) If you do not have and do not want to buy a pizza stone then use a baking sheet but do not pre-heat it. Make the pizza below and put it on the baking sheet and then into a per heated 450 degree oven and bake till done.

Making the Pizza:

  1. Form your dough into the pizza shape you want and top with the sauce, mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.
  2. Place the pizza onto the pre-heated pizza stone or follow #6 above.
  3. Bake the pizza in a 450 degree oven until it is done, done is to your liking.

That’s my Margherita pizza. You can use the same technique and sauce to make any pizza you love adding all kinds of toppings! But always remember never use pre-shredded cheese because the cheese has a anti caking powder on it and that just keep it from melting properly and if you use my sauce recipe never cook it and always use it at room temperature.

Happy Pizza Making!
