Lots of people brag about their grandmother’s cooking.

But Bay Ridge native Daniel Mancini decided to put his money where his mouth was – launching a business that has brought his grandma Ana’s Italian meatballs and sauce into stores across the northeast.

“My little, old, Italian grandmother would have never expected this, and neither did I,” said Mancini, creator of Mama Mancini’s Famous Meatballs and Sunday Sauce. “She’d be proud, for sure.”

    Man, my grandmother was from Sicily and she made the most delicious meatballs I ever tasted, like you wouldn’t believe. Sadly, she died last year and she didn’t leave a recipe for us so I’ve been trying to figure it out on my own… slowly working my through meatball recipes, I still can’t figure out what her secret ingredient was though!!!
