Stove Top Baked Ziti
Yes, stove top baked ziti! It literally will be ready in minutes and it’s so delicious. I put measurements for the cheese but if you like lots of cheese then add more!
You’ll need:
- 1/2 lb of ziti cooked 2 minutes short of recommended time, drained and set aside.
- 8 ounces of ricotta cheese
- 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/4 cup of grated pecorino Romano cheese.
- 2 cups of tomato sauce
- 4 meatballs crushed
Directions:
- In a large skillet add the sauce and crushed meatballs, heat on a medium high heat until bubbling and fully heated
- Then add the pasta, 4- ounces of the ricotta, half the Romano, half the mozzarella and mix well being sure everything is fully mixed together
- Top with remaining mozzarella, romano and ricotta then cover with a lid
- On the stove top (NOT OVEN) put the heat to low and do not remove the cover for 2 minutes
- Remove from the heat let it sit for 5 more minutes (do not remove the lid)
Remember everything is fully cooked you are just melting and heating. I serve directly from the skillet and this also makes for a very easy cleanup! The key to this method is using a skillet that has a lid that fits tight.
